LA, a short introduction

Weather: +34, RealFeel +37
Humidity: 42%, RealFeel 57%

Our Grand tour started from the famous Venice Beach. It was the hottest day of this week (if one can trust forecasts), so the Pacific Ocean wind was more than welcome. The beach was huge and the sand was finest ever. (Sorry South Beach.) Area looked like in the movies, just a little less people. Surfers enjoyed windy day, as did the rollebladers and the cycklists too. Water was much colder than in the Atlantic. (So awesome, we've touched the Pacific Ocean!) There were loads of artistic graffitis in the neighbourhood and all shops at the Ocean boulevard were like from the old times. (This seems to be way in LA, except Beverly Hills.)
Second stop was at Rodeo Drive; Full of designer boutiques, well-dressed good looking people and beautiful buildings.
From there we moved forward to have lunch at the Farmer's Market. There was sold everything one can imagine to use for cooking & eating, EVERYTHING. For a person, who is interested in food, that place is a must. For others, it's a must because there can be seen so widr variety of foods raw or cooked in a restaurant, that it cannot be missed. And beside, there are also designer shops and live music every Fri & Sat during summer.
And then... The most wanted, Hollywood Boulevard! To see the sign on the mountains (it looked kind of tiny!) and the stars. It was a coincidence, but it was legendary to see the sign of MJ on 29th August. Today he would have turned 52 years.
The last stop was dedicated to history. El Pueblo del Los Angeles is a monument (and a short walkingway) build to the place where LA was born. The walkingway has on it's both sides Mexican stores and restaurants.
When we got back to the hotel, we quickly took a shower and made a come-back to Hollywood. Dinner at seawood restaurant and some shopping. Good town.

  1. Tietovisakysymys; kuinka korkeita Hollywood-tekstin kirjaimet ovat? Ja kuka on ainoa suomalainen jolla on oma tähti Walk of famella?
