During our stay we hadn't yet had time to get to know to the fifth of five districts of Philly. City has been devided to different areas by important places. We walked trough others yesterday and today we headed to Rittenhouse Square District.
First, naturally, we went to the Rittenhouse Square for breakfast. Here are food carts on every street, and we chosed one located near the park. We sat and ate in the park, which was surrounded by local resellers selling food and lemonade. This "farmer's market" seems to be same weekend activity in many states. The park was quite grouded, all locals ate there breakfast too. We checked a few churches at the area and walked back and forward the Chestunut Street. Chestnut and Walnut streets are streets of shopping and we did make nice findings (bargain price, of course) in a few boutiques.
In the afternoon we had special ice cream-things at the Scoop DeVille. There one can order ordinary ice creams but... The thing is, that first you choose ice cream/frozen yoghurt and then the toppings (from fruits to bacon slides) and they mix it up. Nice experience, we recommend! Even we choosed just the sweet ones for toppings.
We continued walking and made a huge circle around the city and then headed to the hotel to pack our bags. Then one more time back to the Old City, which we enjoyed dearly yesterday. We had Mojitos at the Monkey Bar and continued to Rotten Ralph's. Among good coctails, there is pollite service and tasty food. This was just great, because it started to rain heavily. After dinner we returned to hotel to dry clothes and to prepare ourselves for leaving tomorrow to NY!
Thank's Philly! You were more fun than we could have expected, you offered beautiful buildings, lovely restaurants and the best surroundings for pedestrians like us.
